Grades 3 + 4

Ballet 

Being that ballet dance is a core subject in all dance training, students will be educated and challenged to continually grow and develop their technique. Ballet training will also work on providing grace, strength, poise, balance and flexibility which will help improve students’ training in other subjects and activities.

Dress code

  • Plain black leotard
  • Tan transition tights
  • Plain black or E-Rae’s dance shorts
  • SoDanca SD120 pink canvas split sole ballet shoes

 

Acro 

Our Acro classes combine tumbling, limbering, and balancing with traditional dance techniques using safe, age-appropriate progressions. Utilizing industry leading Acrobatic Arts curriculum with certified Acrobatic Arts instructors, dancers will learn acrobatic skills such as cartwheels, bridges, walkovers, and handstands. Acro helps develop and improve core strength, spine stability, upper body strength, control & flexibility. 

Dress code

Girls:

  • Plain black leotard (no skirts please) or plain black sports bra
  • Tan transition tights or no tights
  • Plain black or E-Rae’s shorts
  • Bare feet

Boys:

  • Plain black basketball shorts
  • Plain white t-shirt
  • Barefeet

Jazz 

This dance style focuses on learning proper dance techniques such as isolation of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Dancers will work on strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. Dancers will learn choreography to popular and age-appropriate music of today along with vintage styles of jazz from the last decades.

  • Capezio EJ2 caramel or black jazz shoes

Tap

Tap is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds. Dancers warm up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across-the-floor progressions, and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills.

  • Capezio Fluid black tap shoes

Hip Hop 

This incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles, representing body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of Hip Hop music. It is a dynamic style that helps dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance and coordination.
